A Cles De Prunes or wooden plum dryer from the Dordogne region of France. Plum dryers from this region tended to have a more rounded outline. If you compare this item with the Provencal version on this site, you will see that the rest of France tended towards a straighter frame. Plums would be places on these racks and allowed to dry naturally to turn them into prunes. A great decorative piece.
Another fabulous piece of French agricultural history, that would grace any wall.
